As a parent of two children in our district’s public schools, Council Member Elizabeth Crowley knows the importance of providing a solid education that will serve as a foundation for our children.

We all know that a quality school system is the cornerstone of any thriving community. The future of our children depends on an education that is both innovative and challenging. While many other districts are struggling to meet basic needs, Elizabeth continues to fight to make sure that students in her district are never affected by budget constraints.

This means providing enough resources to update and renovate existing schools and investing in new schools. This year Elizabeth secured $2.295 million for schools in the 30th Council District, including $100,000 for a new mock-courtroom at Maspeth High School, and $350,000 for a green-roof at P.S. 49.
